Commonwealth Academy is a non-profit, tax-exempt middle and high school, governed by a voluntary Board of Trustees. The Board meets bi-monthly from September through July to establish policy, review budget and finances, receive and review reports, and establish priorities, goals, and objectives about the school’s operation and future. In May 2004, the Board crafted and adopted a 5-year Strategic Plan that has been an important element of the Board’s activities since that time. The plan outlines the Board’s vision of Commonwealth’s future, key strategic priorities, and specific initiatives required to fulfill their vision.
