| WE WELCOME yOUR VISIT |
Thank you for your interest in Commonwealth Academy. Choosing the best school for your son or daughter can be a complex decision process under any circumstance, accompanied by many emotions and questions. We're here to answer questions, get to know your child, and help you through the application process. Although our website was designed to give you a solid understanding of our school, its curriculum, services, faculty and goals, the information presented here can’t replace a personal visit. We encourage you to call us to discuss your child’s specific strengths and needs, ask questions, and to arrange a personal visit. Commonwealth Academy accepts middle and high school students with average to superior abilities who are strong candidates for graduation and college. We recognize and are well prepared to work with the emotional and social implications that frequently accompany learning differences, but our program is not appropriate for students with difficulties in managing aggressive or “acting out” behavior. Our students must exhibit satisfactory standards of character and conduct, wish to realize significant achievement in an academic setting, and agree to abide by the expectations outlined in our Student Handbook. We embrace diversity of race, ethnicity, gender, learning style, and family composition. Once a student enters Commonwealth, a partnership is formed between home and school to develop and nurture his or her educational, social, and emotional growth. Just as parents are keenly attuned to the strengths, talents, and weaknesses of their own child, our faculty and staff develop strong bonds with each student, promoting confidence and enabling them to master specific strategies to help them succeed. |
