The Commonwealth Academy Parents Association (CAPA) is a vital part of the Commonwealth community, planning and supporting several events that provide parents the opportunity for fellowship, an open exchange of ideas, and discussion about parenting issues. In addition to traditional social gatherings such as the fall CAFE night and helping with our major fundraiser, the Annual Care Awards Dinner, CAPA members host a series of evening cocktail parties for parents of common-aged children to socialize in a more intimate manner. Parents get together on the first Friday afternoon of each month for conversation at a local coffee shop.

CAPA also actively enhances the social lives of our students, helping plan outings and parties, including the winter dance and prom, celebrating the end of exams, and providing hospitality for events.

CAPA organizes all textbooks and readies them for distribution at Orientation Day and supports faculty in numerous other ways.

All parents and guardians of students at Commonwealth are automatically members of CAPA and we encourage each of you to get involved. Come to a CAPA meeting or contact one of the CAPA officers. Learn about CAPA volunteer opportunities (PDF file).
