After considerable thought and discussion, a final decision has been made as to how we are going to make up the school days missed due to the blizzards in February. The make-up snow days built into the yearly calendar have already been used to cover the weather related school closings or delays in December so additional make-up days need to be added.
In advance, please accept my apologies for any inconvenience this final change may cause you.
We are going to extend the school year as follows:
Wednesday, June 9th
Last day of classes before semester exams; MS Field Day
Thursday, June 10th
NO SCHOOL – HS Graduation (as originally scheduled)
Friday, June 11th
Semester exams for Grades 8-11 – Day 1; MS classes
Monday, June 14th
Semester exams for Grades 8-11 –Day 2; MS classes
Tuesday, June 15th
Semester exams for Grades 8-11 - Day 3
MS Rehearsal for Grade 8; MS classes
Wednesday, June 16th
Semester exams for Grades 8-11 – Day 4; Last day of MS classes
Thursday, June 17th
Semester exams for Grades 9-11 – Day 5
MS Graduation – The Lyceum
Friday, June 18th
Make-up exams/Teacher Workday
Please note that exams for seniors will be held in May and are not affected by these schedule changes.
We are re-instating March 31st and April 1st as TEACHER WORKDAYS, no school for students, so report cards can be issued as originally planned. The extra class days will be added to the 4th quarter. However, if we are closed due to the weather any time between now and March 30th, we will again use these teacher workdays as make-up snow days. Specific information will be sent to you, as needed.
