Although a small school, Commonwealth students have numerous opportunities to pursue their interests and enjoy social interaction before and after school, at weekly club meetings and on school trips, during athletic games and annual school events such as theatre productions and the prom. The middle and high school each have their own student government. These activities are central to the full development of our students as they become young adults and adults, teaching them teamwork and respect for the diverse talents of others, as well as an outlet for relaxation and enjoyment. A variety of school services are available to support students in their academic studies and emotional development. We have an on-site counselor, faculty advisors meet with students on a daily basis, and we provide SAT/ACT preparation and extensive college counseling. Private-pay therapists are also available for students who require additional support. Our core values, as first articulated in our 2004-2009 Strategic Plan include character, uniqueness, opportunity, and achievement. These values are reflected in Commonwealth’s student rights, code of conduct, and discipline policy that are outlined in detail in our Student Handbook. |
