We reserve the right to cancel a class due to under-enrollment. Deposits are not refundable unless C/A cancels a class due to under-enrollment. In that event, you will be notified and will be sent a full refund. Tuition payments are not refundable unless we receive a written withdrawal from the program before June 1.
A Medical Authorization Form is required for each student, to be completed by his/her physician and parent or guardian. An immunization record must be submitted for ANY student NOT currently attending C/A.
All prescription medication taken by any student must be noted on the Medical Authorization Form and signed by an attending physician and parent or guardian in order for any medication to be dispensed to a student while in attendance at school. All medication must be clearly marked in a pharmacy-labeled container with the student’s name and dosage requirements. Non-prescription medicine will not be dispensed to students without a physician’s note. Parents should bring all medication to the front desk on the first day of class. DO NOT send medication in your child’s backpack.
Credit courses meet four hours daily for five weeks and are the equivalent of a full year of course work. With prior approval of the Director of Academic & Student Programs, a C/A student who completes a summer school course may receive one unit of credit. Other secondary schools may be willing to give a similar credit; students should obtain approval from their schools prior to enrollment. C/A is not prepared to incorporate special requirements of another school into its courses.
The school will issue reports for academic courses at the end of each semester (the end of the third and fifth weeks). Copies of transcripts will also be sent to the head or principal of each student’s school if requested on the application form. Final payment of all financial obligations is required before reports are sent to parents or schools, and before course credits are registered.
Attendance is checked daily. Please call the front desk at 703.548.6912 when a student is unable to attend. Planned absences of more than two days must be cleared by the Director of Summer Programs prior to beginning the course. A student who misses more than two days of instruction will not be awarded a credit.

Students are expected to comply with generally accepted standards of behavior. Students who interfere with the learning, enrichment, and pleasure of other students may be dismissed from the program without refund and will forfeit the option of re-enrollment. A student possessing or using any illegal drugs, alcohol, or tobacco products will be dismissed from the program without refund. Dress is informal; however, the school expects that a student’s appearance will be in keeping with C/A’s academic goals. Students and their parents are responsible for knowing and abiding by the rules of the C/A Summer program and are expected to give their full cooperation both to the rules and to the educational objectives of the school.
In the event of an area emergency, information from C/A can be obtained by calling our front desk at 703.548.6912.
