Most independent schools supplement tuition income with Annual Giving and other fundraising programs to cover the full costs of a private education. Commonwealth Academy is no exception. In fact, it’s because of the generosity of our community that Commonwealth is able to provide the individualized instruction that is so important to the success of our students, while keeping tuition affordable and competitive. Gifts to the school, both financial and in-kind, are made through Annual Giving by current parents, past parents, alumni and friends; special events during the school year; and major gifts from individuals, foundations and businesses with a particular interest in the mission of the school. Annual Giving at Commonwealth is strong and growing stronger. It is the foundation of all giving at the school and demonstrates the depth of commitment of our community. Parent support is very high for the excellent programs provided their children. The Commonwealth Academy Parents Association, CAPA, plans and supports both “friendraising” and fundraising events throughout the year. The annual spring Awards Dinner is our most important fundraiser, where local and national educators are honored for their work with diverse learners.
