CA Student Wins Second Place in the Alexandria Library's 2023 Winter Creativity Contest
Commonwealth Academy

While many CA students returned from Spring Break with new experiences and memories (such as our Spring Break Colorado ski trip) under their belts last week, some students returned with exciting news to share. This was definitely the case for Andrei T. '29, who was named Alexandria Library's second-place winner in the Middle School Writing – Prose category of the 2023 Winter Creativity Contest for his short story “Andrei and the Aliens!”

According to Andrei's congratulatory letter from Alexandria Library, "The Teen Winter Creativity Contest is a self-expressive contest for writers, visual artists and photographers in grades 6-12. We are impressed by the thoughtful and creative work our teens entered in the contest – from paintings to poems and photographs to fiction. Participating this year was especially challenging, and you rose to the occasion!"

Andrei's original short story, "Andrei and the Aliens!" takes place on the planet of Booglerong and details his experience(s) with blue aliens called Norgles. You can read the entire short story here.

Congrats, Andrei! We are so proud of you and we hope you are proud of yourself!
