Middle School

a note from the head of middle school

Dear Current and Prospective Community Members,

The middle school years, more so than others, are defined by constant personal change and evolution. Commonwealth Academy’s Middle School faculty and staff are dedicated to making this memorable time of transition as positive and rewarding as possible through the connection and community we build together. Our students arrive on campus each day knowing that they are seen, heard, and respected by adults who work tirelessly to guide and support them through—what is for many—a challenging and uncertain time in their lives. With this trust in place, our students are free to explore their own identities and interests as they push themselves academically in our college preparatory program and prepare for Upper School.

While we emphasize academic success in our Middle School, we know that our students value fun and joy immensely Through field trips, athletics, extra-curricular activities, elective classes, and more, CA provides Middle School students with ample opportunities to make friends and develop their social-emotional skills in a fun and safe setting. From the beginning-of-the-year community-building activities to year-end celebrations, we do our best to ensure our students feel connected and belong in a caring academic community.

It is a privilege and honor to work with our Middle School students and to be there for them during these critical years. Watching our students become more independent, brave, and curious as they prepare for the future is a rewarding experience like no other. I am so glad you are considering partnering with us and please know my door is open any time if you have questions.

Yours,

Geoff Stanton

Head of Middle School
