Lower School

a note from the head of lower school

Dear Current and Prospective Families,

The Lower School years are pivotal times in the development of all children. These years are full of exploration, self-discovery, and the critical skill-building required to further develop dynamic and well-rounded individuals. At Commonwealth Academy, we approach each child and their unique learning journey with great care and unparalleled understanding. This approach allows us to help our students learn more about who they are — as learners and people — and become resilient students who can (and will) advocate for themselves now and for many years to come.

Using a brain-focused schedule designed to promote learning in more meaningful and intentional ways, our students actively participate in and drive their academic journeys — at their own pace and with the unwavering support and guidance of our skilled faculty. Our students are brilliant learners who thrive when presented with the structure, accommodations, and gift of being seen for who they are and their wonderful strengths.

From a standards-based curriculum, our students rediscover the joy of learning in all classes. While developing content knowledge, collaborative skills, and critical thinking capabilities, the Lower School offers a program that supports student growth and self-development in a welcoming and safe environment.

We welcome all to inquire about the life-changing learning that takes place at our school, engage with our faculty at an upcoming event or open house, and ask questions about the magic that occurs in our wonderful community of engaged learners.

Wishing you all the best,

Santiago Seré
