About Our Middle School
CHOICES

EXPERIENCE
At Commonwealth Academy, we recognize that everyone learns at their own pace in their unique way. To better challenge our students who seek to go beyond the skills and content of our core classes, we offer Middle School students the opportunity to participate in our Passion Projects program, which allows students to independently engage in a rigorous project designed in collaboration with a teacher. Many of our twice-exceptional (2e) students love participating in our Passion Projects program because it provides the creative outlets needed in tandem with our core classes. For our eighth-grade students, we also offer Honors coursework options.
SUPPORT

Dear Current and Prospective Community Members,
I am excited to join Commonwealth Academy as the new Head of Lower and Middle School! It has been a joy to witness the school’s mission come to life through the dedication of our faculty, staff, administration, and families. Working with CA students—who are independent, curious, and compassionate problem-solvers—is truly rewarding. We are committed to helping students with learning differences achieve their full potential through a deep understanding of their needs, a compassionate approach, and dedicated academic support.
Middle school is a unique and transformative stage that requires structure, compassion, and strong relationships. Students at this age seek connections while exploring their identities and aspirations. Our faculty and administrators are dedicated to ensuring that every student feels seen, accepted, and valued for their individuality. We also prioritize student leadership, encouraging them to share their ideas and help shape our school community.
Commonwealth Academy takes pride in our rigorous college preparatory program. Our teachers meet students where they are, fostering success while challenging them to strive for more. However, our commitment extends beyond academics. Outside the classroom, students engage in field trips, athletic teams, extracurricular activities, and class trips—providing ample opportunities to form friendships and develop social skills in a vibrant, engaging environment. Parents, caregivers, and community members play a vital role in our students’ development, and we work diligently to create a comfortable atmosphere where students can thrive.
It is my privilege to witness the daily successes and milestones our students achieve throughout the school year. I am continually inspired by their transformation into confident, adventurous, and inquisitive thinkers as they prepare for Upper School and beyond.
Warm regards,
Tim Creamer
