inclusive & involved
CA’s dedicated, dynamic community of families and faculty, with our unique bonds and beliefs in each other, distinguishes us from other schools. At CA, we have cultivated a culture of kindness that can be hard to come by these days, and we are proud of the fact that “community” tops the list when students and staff are asked what makes CA so special. Our work is ongoing, and we are ever committed to diversity, inclusion, equity, and accessibility in all that we do.

Athletics
Commonwealth Academy’s Athletics program, in concert with our PE program, assists in the overall growth and development of students. Students take the reins of their personal growth and development by exploring concepts of work ethic, discipline, dedication, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fitness in tangible, hands-on ways. we consistently offer: volleyball, soccer, cross country, and basketball with additional sports depending on interest.
Regardless of team win-loss records or individual accomplishments, all student-athletes who graduate from CA transfer the lessons learned from their athletic experiences to their community and the world.

Making meaningful connections and carving out time for exploration, passion, and joy are important parts of the CA experience. As such, every Friday, from 3:00 to 3:40 p.m., The types and focal points of clubs offered each year are based on student interest, are subject to change, and tend to focus on recreational athletics and activities, sports, fine arts, and performing arts. CA Middle and Upper School students and faculty come together to explore extracurricular interests.

Community Service
At Commonwealth Academy, we believe in serving and giving back to the greater community. In fact, each Upper School student is expected to participate in at least 10 hours of community service for each year they attend CA.
CA’s Community Service program affords students opportunities to experience service in a variety of ways. Through our four school-wide projects each year, students get a glimpse of the many ways they can support our community. In the past, activities have included:
Through our service programs, students also have the opportunity to research and develop individualized community service projects that align with their passions. Another service activity that our students find delightful is the Bigs and Littles program, which allows students in the Upper School to act as mentors and buddies for Lower School students.
